Now that Tee Higgins is likely staying put in Cincinnati, veteran wideout Stefon Diggs has suddenly become one of the biggest free agents this offseason.

The Bengals franchise tagged Higgins as they continue to work on figuring out long-term deals for their top two receivers. That move took the top receiver off of the board for teams looking for receivers, leaving options like Chris Godwin, Amari Cooper, and Diggs at the top of the wide receiver market.

Diggs will likely command significant interest in free agency despite suffering a torn ACL in 2024. In eight games before his injury, the Houston Texans receiver caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns, averaging a strong 1.84 yards per route run.

Let's take a look at a handful of teams that would make sense for Diggs, who have the money to pay him, along with a clear need at receiver.

The New England Patriots need to do whatever it takes to build a competent offense around Drake Maye, who quickly looked like the long-term answer at quarterback as a rookie in 2024.

Despite Maye's flashes, the rest of the offense is a mess. The offensive line needs a complete overhaul, and Maye needs multiple reliable receivers to throw to, especially after last year's disappointing draft picks at the position.

Diggs' alignment versatility could make him an easy target for Maye to get the ball to. The Patriots also have nearly $130 million in cap space, so they can make a competitive offer to an established veteran wideout like Diggs while still using picks in the 2025 NFL Draft to add other weapons.

Like the Patriots, the Las Vegas Raiders have a lot of cap space. Their $93 million in cap space will allow them to be aggressive in pursuing key free agents, including an established wideout like Diggs.

Brock Bowers has emerged as a one-of-a-kind tight end, setting multiple records in his rookie season as the primary target in Las Vegas' offense. While that's an awesome weapon for the Raiders to have in their offense, they need to spread the ball out more to keep them less predictable.

The Raiders will also likely take a swing on a rookie quarterback in this year's draft. Whether it's Shedeur Sanders or a surprise name, a young quarterback will need some established weapons who can get open on their own to help with long-term development.

Diggs specializes in getting open with impressive releases off of the line of scrimmage. He's also tough as nails, and his identity as a football player fits so well with the Raiders brand.

After such a strong rookie season, Bo Nix has established himself as a legitimate long-term option for the Denver Broncos. The Broncos' plan going forward is to surround their young quarterback with as much talent as possible.

Courtland Sutton is a true No. 1 receiver, while Marvin Mims has emerged as a serious vertical threat on the opposite side. Devaughn Vele is an intriguing big-bodied slot, but a healthy Diggs could be an upgrade in the slot while moving around the field in different alignments.

Diggs brings a skill set to the position that Denver's other receivers don't have, and with $40 million in cap space, they have enough cap space to work on a move if both sides are interested.

A potential pairing of George Pickens and Stefon Diggs would be one of the most intense wide receiver duos in the league.

Pickens is a talented No. 1 target, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have lacked another reliable weapon in the passing game, allowing opponents to focus all of their efforts on shutting the top target down. Pittsburgh's situation is so bad that besides Pickes, who averaged an impressive 2.11 yards per route run, no other receiver on the roster averaged more than 1.41 YPRR.

The Steelers aren't even sure who their starting quarterback will be in 2025, but regardless of who plays under center, they need to add weapons. A player like Diggs won't be cheap, but they have $53 million in cap space and have to do something to take some of the pressure off of Pickens as the team's only viable option in the passing game.

Could Diggs be interested in finishing his career where it began?

Diggs was a breakout star for the Minnesota Vikings from 2015 through 2019. While all of his accolades came with the Buffalo Bills, the former fifth-round pick caught 365 passes for 4,623 yards and 30 touchdowns during five seasons in Minnesota.

The Vikings already have a dominant pair of receivers in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, but they currently lack a great No. 3 option, particularly in the slot. Jalen Nailor was the team's third target at receiver in 2024 but averaged just 1.05 YPRR.

Minnesota has the money to complete a deal with over $62 million in cap space. The bigger question is whether the two sides would be interested in a reunion and whether the Vikings want to allocate some of their money to spend in free agency to another receiver.

Still, the idea of Diggs finishing his career in Minnesota could be a fitting end to a tremendous career, depending on the length of the deal.
