5 Best PrizePicks More-Less Picks To Smash in NFL Week 5
Another week of NFL games means another week for PrizePicks.
Week 5 starts off with a divisional rivalry between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons for Thursday Night Football. Big matchups on Sunday include a primetime showdown between two iconic franchises, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys, while Aaron Rodgers faces a familiar foe as the New York Jets take on the Minnesota Vikings.
A strong slate of games means plenty of PrizePicks more/less picks to choose from, so let's break down some of our favorites.
Week 5 PrizePicks Selections
Kyle Pitts 0.5 Rushing/Receiving Touchdowns: More
It doesn't seem like anyone believes in Kyle Pitts anymore. That makes this pick even more enticing to users looking for a bigger payout.
The former first-round tight end had zero catches last week against the New Orleans Saints. It's not like he wasn't on the field, however. He was on the field for 38 offensive snaps, and he was targeted three times.
The Falcons have the weapons to spread the ball around, which sometimes means that Pitts will be the odd man out. To avoid risking losing Pitts mentally for the rest of the year, look for Kirk Cousins to go his way at least once or twice when the Falcons are in the red zone.
Josh Jacobs 65.5 Rushing Yards: Less
The Green Bay Packers gave Josh Jacobs a four-year, $48 million contract this offseason. However, they don't seem like a team wanting to overexert their new running back early this season.
After using Jacobs in a 32-carry game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Packers have dialed his workload down significantly during the last two games. He has just 23 combined carries in the last two contests, running for 43 and 51 yards against the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings.
Meanwhile, former undrafted RB Emanuel Wilson is seeing an increased workload. He has 20 carries for 77 yards in the last two games, along with two catches for 35 yards and his first career touchdown.
Even if the Packers try to get Jacobs some more run on Sunday, Wilson could take away too many snaps while Jordan Love looks to air it out in his second game back from a knee injury.
Caleb Williams 215.5 Passing Yards: More
It's time to let Caleb Williams cook.
The No. 1 overall pick and several key Chicago Bears players reportedly met with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron before last week's win to encourage him to be more aggressive as a play-caller.
The Bears came away with a win after that meeting, but Williams still had a quiet performance, throwing for 157 yards and a touchdown.
A game against the lowly Carolina Panthers could help Williams put up some video game numbers. The Panthers have the 23rd passing defense by DVOA, and the Bears simply have too many weapons at receiver for them to handle.
Look for Waldron to try to get Williams going through the air this week.
Justin Jefferson 6 Receptions: Less
It's hard to say that potentially the best wide receiver in the NFL won't eat on Sunday. However, Justin Jefferson faces his toughest test of the season against Sauce Gardner and the New York Jets.
Jefferson hasn't had more than six catches in any game this season, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had a great start to the season. Through four games, he has caught 20 passes for 358 yards and four touchdowns, ranking near the top in yards and scores.
The Jets' defense is off to a cold start, but Gardner is still one of the best cornerbacks in the league. This is a game that he'll be ready to go for, and he will try to lock up Jefferson every chance he gets.
Jefferson will still make some plays, but it will be hard for him to haul in six catches if Gardner follows him around the entire game.
Lamar Jackson 270.5 Passing + Rushing Yards: More
Lamar Jackson isn't having an MVP-caliber season, but that won't matter to him as long as the Baltimore Ravens keep churning out wins.
After an 0-2 start, the Ravens have churned out back-to-back statement wins, including a blowout against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. This week, the Ravens take on another AFC North team, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson is 8-2 in his career against the Bengals. This year's version of the Bengals also has a struggling defense that ranks 22nd overall in DVOA.
Derrick Henry has been the star of the last few games, which means that the Bengals will be busy planning on how to slow him down. That should open up the passing game for Jackson, who will also have some opportunities to generate explosive plays with his legs.
This has a chance to be Jackson's best game of the year and one that can lift the Ravens above .500.
