5 Best PrizePicks More-Less Picks To Smash in NFL Week 9

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow scrambles during the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow scrambles during the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 27, 2024.

The NFL regular season is already halfway done, but there's still plenty of time to hammer some PrizePicks.

Week 9 features some exciting matchups, starting with a pivotal AFC showdown between the Houston Texans and New York Jets. The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers also face off for the first time this season in a battle for the division lead in the NFC North.

Even some of the weaker matchups feature some ideal value for some PrizePicks more-less selections, so let's dive into them.

NFL Week 9 PrizePicks More or Less Picks

Joe Mixon 85.5 Rushing Yards: More

The Texans are without their two top receivers, Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs. Look for them to establish the run early and often against the Jets on Thursday Night Football.

When healthy, Joe Mixon has been one of the most dominant running backs in the league this year. He's had over 100 rushing yards in four of the five games he's played in, averaging 4.9 yards per carry in the process.

The Jets have had a disappointing season, particularly with their defense failing to meet its expectations. It's gotten so bad that they're 23rd against the run by defensive DVOA.

Mixon should get plenty of carries in this one, with the opportunity to break off a couple of big ones to get more than 85.5 rushing yards.

Kyle Pitts 48.5 Receiving Yards: Less

Fantasy owners who have kept believing in Kyle Pitts were finally rewarded with a massive outing last Sunday.

Pitts finished the win against Tampa Bay with four catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He presented a huge mismatch against the Buccaneers and generated explosive plays.

That being said, Pitts isn't usually a primary target in Atlanta's passing game, given all of its other weapons. He's only had two games this season with more than five targets, meaning that he has to make the most of his limited opportunities.

The Cowboys' defense has been disappointing this season, but its playoff chances are on the ropes heading into this matchup. Expect the defense to come out playing with some extra juice, which could prevent Pitts from making plays in the middle of the field.

Cooper Kupp straps up his gloves while in the tunnel

Cooper Kupp 6 Receptions: More

The Los Angeles Rams offense looks dangerous once again, thanks to the return of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Matthew Stafford came alive in the upset win against the Minnesota Vikings last week, and now the Rams are looking to keep that hot streak going against a divisional rival in the Seattle Seahawks. Kupp had a solid game in his first week back, catching 5-of-8 targets for 51 yards and a touchdown.

With another week of practice under his belt, Kupp should see an even bigger workload this week. He was a massive target in the team's season opener, catching 14-of-21 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Twenty-one targets isn't a sustainable workload, but Stafford should look Kupp's way more often this week after a strong return to the field against the Vikings.

Joe Burrow 261.5 Passing yards: Less

The Cincinnati Bengals have a winnable matchup this week against the Las Vegas Raiders. Joe Burrow should have the offense cooking, but things might get out of hand early enough that the offense starts focusing on chewing the clock more than explosive plays.

Even with the Bengals turning around their season, Burrow hasn't been airing it out as much as one would expect. He's only had two games with more than 300 passing yards, averaging less than 250 yards per game despite a couple of big outings.

Burrow hasn't put up big numbers against two of his weaker opponents in the Giants and Panthers, throwing for 208 and 232 yards, respectively. Expect a similar performance on Sunday, as the Bengals lean on the running game and focus on managing the clock.

De'Von Achane Longest Rush 14.5 Yards: More

The return of Tua Tagovailoa has given the Miami Dolphins some hope of making the playoffs. It's also having a legitimate impact on the running game.

One of the most underrated aspects of Tagovailoa's game is his ability to fake out defenses with creative run designs and handoffs like this one.

That creativity should help open up the running game for De'Von Achane, who had his best game of the season last week. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry with 97 rushing yards, including a 47-yard explosive run with six catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Achane is a threat to take off whenever he gets the ball in his hand, so there's a good chance he'll be able to break off another one on Sunday.
