Bills' Damar Hamlin Shares Thanks During His First Public Comments
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, expressed his gratitude during his first public comments on Saturday.
"I'm so thankful to everybody," he said in a video he posted to Instagram and reshared on Twitter by the Bills. "I know that it isn't enough just to be thankful. This is just the beginning of the impact I wanted to have on the world. And with God's guidance, I will continue to do wonderful and great things. I couldn't do this without any of the support and the love, and I can't wait to continue to take you all on this journey with me."

Hamlin has made remarkable progress in his recovery. He was transferred from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center on Jan. 9 to a Buffalo hospital, then released from the Buffalo facility on Jan. 11 after faring well enough on a series of cardiac, neurological and vascular tests to be discharged. He has continued his rehabilitation at home since.
Hamlin attended the Bills' Divisional Round loss to the Bengals last weekend.
