The Carolina Panthers have fired head coach Frank Reich after a 1-10 start to his first season with the team. Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor will take over as the interim head coach, while offensive coordinator Thomas Brown will take over play-calling duties. Quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and running backs coach Duce Staley were also fired.

Owner David Tepper — who was spotted following Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans yelling, "F---!'' — issued a statement Monday.

The Panthers hired Reich this offseason with the vision of pairing him with a young quarterback. They traded up to select Alabama's Bryce Young, but things have not worked out — the team has not reached 30 points in a single game.

Reich started the season as play-caller but passed that duty over to Brown for three games before taking it back the past two weeks. The offense scored just 10 points in both games.

Tepper has now fired three coaches — Ron Rivera, Matt Rhule and Reich — since purchasing the team in 2018. All three were fired during the season.

Reich has been fired as head coach in two straight years after being let go by the Indianapolis Colts last season.

Carolina is the second team to have let a coach go after the Las Vegas Raiders fired Josh McDaniels on November 1.
