Chimere Dike 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Florida Gators WR
Height: 6005 (verified)
Weight: 196lbs (verified)
Year: Redshirt Senior
Pro Comparison: Trey Palmer
Scouting Overview
Florida Gators wide receiver Chimere Dike projects as a developmental role player at the NFL level. Dike has blazing speed and the ability to stack defenders vertically. Still, his implementation will likely yield low targets, and his refinement as a receiver potentially puts him beyond an early career impact on offense.
Dike does have experience on special teams as a returner but has had three muffs on punts in the last two seasons, leaving him shaky at best with his positioning to serve in that role as well.
2025 NFL Combine Results
Position | Name | School | 40-Yard Dash | 10-Yard Split | Broad Jump | Vertical Jump | 3-Cone Drill | 20-Yard Shuttle | Bench Press |
WR | Chimere Dike | Florida | 4.34 | 1.51 | 128 | 38.5 | 6.82 | 4.27 |
Positives
- Blazing fast vertical speed that yields easy separation on fades and big posts
- Has man-beater ability on deeper targets as currently constructed
- Illustrates good gear down and deceleration ability to pair with bursty releases
Negatives
- The drop rate for his career sits at over 10 percent — has missed some balls he should have caught
- Does not run a particularly refined or dynamic route tree coming out after 5 seasons
- Lacks the same wiggle or agility as he does raw linear explosiveness
Background
Dike is from Waukesha, WI, and played high school football for Waukesha North HS. There, he was a two-way talent as a wide receiver and a safety. Dike also ran track at the prep level, medaling in long-jump while also competing in the 100m, the 200m and the 4x100 relay.
He ranked as a 4-star recruit (247 Sports) who twice collected All-State honors before enrolling at Wisconsin as a member of the program’s 2020 recruiting class. Dike made six starts in seven games for the Badgers as a true freshman during the COVID-19 pandemic season while retaining his four years of eligibility.
In 2021, Dike played in all 13 games for Wisconsin with just one starter and then broke out as a full-time starter as a third-year sophomore in 2022. Dike led the team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns that season; he was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten for his performance.
Dike would enter the transfer portal after the 2023 season, in which he played and started 11 games. As a 3-star transfer (247 Sports), Dike landed with the Gators and enjoyed a successful final campaign. After the season, he accepted an invitation to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Tale Of The Tape
Dike is an explosive athlete with good speed and has the opportunity to become a dangerous role player for his NFL team. He will be best served continuing to learn how to develop his routes and releases to serve as a traditional Z-receiver in the league, responsible for pushing the roof on coverage and creating space for the rest of his offense.
This role can be a productive one, but for Dike to reach that kind of yield in the passing game, he will need to become a more refined route runner and tighten up his hands at the catch point, as frustrating drops and inefficient route breaks on steep angles are currently inhibitors to claiming reps for an NFL offense.
Dike can absolutely run by man coverage, or he can tear apart quarters downfield with big posts that snag the far safety. However, can he set up off-coverage to run a field out and do so efficiently? The speed element can’t be the only club in the bag, and at times, it feels like it is.
Dike is well-built for a speedster but does not play a particularly physical brand of football. His snap share for his career is nearly 50/50 split between perimeter and slot play, but both of his most productive seasons (2024 and 2022) saw him taking a large majority of his routes from the slot, where he’s granted more space initially and free releases off the line of scrimmage.
Dike does offer special teams experience and was used extensively in stretches as a returner. He was Wisconsin’s returner in 2023 and Florida’s in 2024. Although, his three muffed punts during that period of time could be a dealbreaker if they pop up on NFL game days.
It may take an injury for Dike to claim playing time early as a rookie, but he will have special teams opportunities to earn as a blazing return threat. That said, he is generally an uncreative runner and will be reliant on his blocks to facilitate any big gains.
Ideal Scheme Fit, Role
Dike projects as a coverage lifter at the NFL level. He’ll need to be further developed with his release package to play on the outside, but he has the raw speed to command respect running the “lift” routes to open up coverage. He should eventually be a role player as a WR4 in a room.
