The Week Ahead: Julio Jones Traded, Aaron Rodgers AWOL and More
June is usually the quietest month of the year on the NFL calendar, but there’s still plenty going on.
Here’s what everyone in the NFL is talking about this week:
- The Julio Jones trade
As Joe Banner predicted last week, the Falcons were not going to get a first-round pick in exchange for wideout Julio Jones. The Titans gave up a second-round pick in 2022 and a fourth-rounder in 2023. Many in the football world predicted immediate Super Bowl status for the Titans. Banner was not one of them:

2. Aaron Rodgers: Will he or won’t he?
Tuesday is the start of Green Bay Packers OTAs. And it’s not really a question as to whether or not Aaron Rodgers reports. He won’t. The question is: What will the Packers do about it? They could start to fine their MVP quarterback, or they could choose to waive the fine. Either way, there’s a ton of speculation about what happens next in this saga.
3. Mandatory Minicamp Starts
While a majority of the league finished up their OTA Offseason Workouts, the following teams have their Mandatory Minicamp start dates this week
Monday, June 7th - Wednesday, June 9th
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tuesday, June 8th - Thursday, June 10th
- Atlanta Falcons
- Dallas Cowboys
- Detroit Lions
- New York Giants
- Philadelphia Eagles
